The office of the Yukon Chief Medical Officer of Health is responsible for the Department of Health and Social Services' legislated responsibility to protect and promote the public's health in a variety of areas.

The MOH also works with Health Promotion on ways to inform the Yukon public of Health Issues and topics.
The MOH touches on important topics such as Immunization.
In addition, the Chief Medical Officer of Health works in collaboration with numerous federal and provincial/territorial representatives on a number of national and international health issues, including immunization, pandemic influenza preparedness, and chronic disease and injury prevention.
